If you are looking for products that allow ventilation, drainage, or add a decorative touch, your three main options are expanded sheet metal, perforated sheet metal, or welded/woven wire mesh. As an Expanded Metal Mesh Supplier, share with you.

There are three main differences between expanded metal, perforated metal, and wire mesh: their manufacturing method, characteristics, end use, manufacturing process, and expanded sheet metal.

Enlarging a metal plate is done by first creating multiple slits in the plate, and then stretching the thin plate. Stretching creates a unique diamond pattern opening, where one strand stands out at a slight angle. If necessary, these raised strands can be flattened in a later process. As you can see, this process does not produce any waste, it can increase the structural strength of the product.

Perforated metal sheet

Perforated metal plate is a product made of steel plate, which is conveyed by a machine that punches out round holes. The holes can be arranged straight or staggered to increase the number of openings. Usually, the perimeter of the worksheet has a boundary without perforations; this increases the stability of the worksheet. The metal removed from the holes can be recycled, but it also increases the cost of the product. The larger the hole size, the greater the amount of waste, so the cost will increase.

Expanded metal sheet

One of the benefits of making expanded metal is that the sheet maintains its structural integrity because it has not experienced the stress of the shape of the perforation in it, and the mesh-like pattern will not disintegrate. Expanded metal is stretched instead of perforated, reducing waste metal waste and making it cost-effective. The main considerations when using expanded metal are the selected thickness and strand size. Expanded metal can be almost transparent; it has mechanical properties and is an excellent conductor.

Barbed wire

Welding wire mesh is a metal wire mesh composed of various alloys, including steel, stainless steel, brass, and copper. It comes in various sizes and shapes. Using the method of electrofusion, the grid of parallel longitudinal wires is welded to the cross wires of the required spacing. The machine used to make the grid has precise size control.
