Expanded metal is typically measured with the following parameters:

How is Expanded Metal Measured

SWD (Short Way of Diamond): Measured from a point to a corresponding point on the adjacent diamond.

LWD (Long Way of Diamond): Measured from a point to a corresponding point on the adjacent diamond.

Strand Width: Amount of metal fed under  dies to produce one strand.

Strand Thickness:Thickness of the base metal.

Sheet Size LWM X SWM:

Expanded metal sheets are typically available in standard sizes of 4ftx8ft,4ftx10ft,5ftx10ft, which can vary depending on the manufacturer and the specific requirements of the application.

STRAND THICKNESS AND WIDTH – Can be varied to create different openings. The width of the strand should equal or exceed the thickness of the base metal.
